On March 27, the fifth™♥ expanded meeting of the fourth eε¶xecutive council of the China Cotton T'βextile Industry Association and the 201↕↕7 Cotton Textile Market Situation Anal$₩←₩ysis Conference was held in Chang®™∏zhou, Jiangsu. The current Chinese teε∏xtile industry has entereδd a new normal of slowing growth. Aπ¥£ relevant official from th→÷§ e China National Text≈♣ile and Apparel Council✘♠$∞ analyzed to reporters on the'₽δ 4th that the current♥§€ development mainly pres↑•ents three character✔©↓§istics: slowing growth rate, inΩσ♠creasing development pressure, ₽$∏πand urgent transformation of driving fo$λβ♠rces. In 2014, the Chinese texti↓le industry experienced so♣σ≥€me new changes, with the overall market©π environment of the indus♥βtry not being ideal. The economic g←σ≈Ωrowth of the industry is stabiγ₽ ★lizing but slowing down, and the main ☆ economic growth indicators o✔★±f enterprises above ♦₽designated size have decr λ≤eased to single-digit growth, leadin∏♦♠¥g to significant operational pressu₩®≠©re on companies. Additionally,→÷β China's textile and€Ω apparel imports and exporεts experienced negative growt₩ &h in the first month of 20♣✘±15.
In the first half of this yeλ™ "ar, the industrial added val≤↔$ue of large-scale textilγ₩≈e enterprises in Fujian Pro✘™↓§vince increased by 11.4% year≈γ-on-year, which is 4.6 percenta¶σge points higher than the ↕•←±national average in the same industry≥≈. Large-scale enterprise≈♣&λs achieved a cumulative main busines 's income of 103.662 π™billion yuan, a year-on-y←↑×ear increase of 7.7%, which i≈↕₩♥s 2.3 percentage points high∞λ"≤er than the national average in ↑₽ the same industry; the total profit rea≠♠ched 11.3 billion yuan, a year-on-♥γ year increase of 12.9%, w∑☆hich is 3.5 percentage po α>αints higher than the national aver®♥age in the same industry. Facing≤ issues such as global₽α• textile overcapacity, reduced dom₹£estic and internationaδ×≤l market demand, and increasingly risiα₩ng labor costs and diffi≤ culties in recruitment, the textile in♠↓dustry, as a representative of labor-in✘♠×tensive industries, is encountering ¶φ∑σdevelopment bottlenecks.
The international ma©∑rket is sluggish, and domαλestic market demand is₹γ→ shrinking, making this year's texα&tile business difficult. In recenα✘♥t years, more and more internatioπσnal fashion brands have begun to shift¥•∏ε their fabric procurement targets to ₹φ↑the China Textile Ci≥≈↓ty located in Keqiao, S₽★₹haoxing County. Howeverλ₩, compared to first-tier citie€↓™s like Shanghai and Guangzhou, ≈λλthe fabric prices in the Textile City ♣♦←✘are relatively lower, and$"& product homogeneity σ"is one of the reasons. "Many fabri×α↕∞cs from Shaoxing County's textile e§≥nterprises have a high repetition rate and similarity. Just pickγ∑α ing any fabric, more than ten co<®φΩmpanies have it, which is not suit÷β™able for the personalized de≤αvelopment needs of high-end bran' ₽ds. In contrast, some f×£∑©oreign fabric compan≈ •↑ies have thousands of yarn typ±☆✔es, providing not only a wσπ₩∑ide range of choices but als♣γo..."
The sluggish textile industry€< has put domestic cotton policies↓∞δ in a dilemma.
For the cotton market, in addition to ∞≠★ external pressures, there are vaλγrious difficulties t₽←hat are hard to articulate. Firstly<♣, weak downstream text¥→ile consumption globally has led to$ ∏ high inventory levels. Regarding t ε®he predictions for p≈¥✘★roduction, sales, and inven↑βtory data, the USDA and±★↔ the International Cotton€α Advisory Committee have ≈≥different statistical approac•↓hes, but their views ≥ are generally consiste↔>nt. Since 2012, the US★φDA has repeatedly made significan÷$©t upward adjustments to inve€÷ ntory data in its monthly supp÷≤₹ly and demand reports. T✔γβ he forecast for global in→ $ventory of 13.232 million tons♥ ↓ in the February supply anσ☆σ§d demand report was adjusted to 13.569'δ✘♦ million tons in the↑✔> March report, and then$ to the April supply and demand ®φ©report.
